Intro to Joomla

This workshop will give you an introduction to the features and functionality of the Joomla Content Management System, version 3. You’ll learn how to navigate the administrator interface, create and edit basic content, and create menus. We’ll also point you in the direction of the resources available for documentation and support in the Joomla User Community.

Throughout the session you will work to build your own fully functional Joomla website, which you’ll be accessible long after the workshop is complete.

No prior knowledge is required for this workshop. We expect that you will be a beginner. However, being familiar with a Mac computer is helpful.

Once you have completed this workshop you will be prepared to take on the Intermediate Joomla workshop.

I can't book tickets?
There are a couple of reasons why you might not be able to book a place. Firstly, tickets sales may not have opened. If this is the case, under "End" in the registration information it will list "Not started". You can find details of when bookings open on our website.

If the session has booked out under "Quantity" in the registration information it will list "Sold Out". You may be able to put your name on the waitlist.

How do I put my name on the waitlist?
If places are available on the waitlist, the ‘Add my name to waitlist’ option will appear in the bottom right corner of the registration information box. Full details on how we use the waitlist can be found on our website.

What if I can no longer attend a workshop?
Please so show respect for those on the waitlist and let us know as soon as possible if you are unable to make it so we can offer your place to someone else.

Is there a minimum age for participants?
This session is designed for participants aged 15 and up.

Do I need any prior experience to participate?
All our introductory level workshops assume no prior knowledge. They are perfect for beginners. In all our other workshops no prior experience is required unless specifically stated.

Do I need to bring anything to this workshop?
Unless specifically stated in the workshop description you do not need to bring anything to this workshop. Some participants do find it useful to bring a notebook or a tablet to take notes.
